VECTOR PAINTINGS

The Vector Paintings series has been developed since 2012 within my postgradual studies at the studio led by prof. Csudai at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia. The topic of my dissertation work is on the similarities of the aesthetics of the computer games from the 70s to the 90s of the 20th century with the postmodern world artworks. While creating the paintings I work with the spontaneous drawing drawn on the uncoated canvas and embroided with the wool. I have chosen the embroidery as a paralel to the vector lines in the graphic programe Adobe Illustrator. Thanks to this the embroided line is always the same and perfectly immitates computer work. The final drawing and embroidery is painted with a thick layer of black colour and the embroided lines are consequently painted over with colours and a thin brush. In this way I create sophisticated maps of the imaginary worlds of the non-existing video games.
